Up and Down kind of day

Up: my Nizlopi CD and Zelda game arrived in today's post, and the Nizlopi CD came in awesome packaging. The Physics department at Melbourne Uni seem keen for me to be their Einstein for the Melbourne Physics Forum. (Nothing concrete yet, the guy hasn't been in to answer my call, but he seemed impressed by my web site. All sounds good.)
Down: venue hunt for Fringe is failing miserably, and online registrations close on Thursday. Everywhere of a reasonable size is booked or too expensive. Anyone with bright ideas please have them today and let me know.
And before I forget, thanks to the parties on the weekend: the sexiest-furry-hat-flaps-wearing bootylicious
givemethegun and, new on my scene, the screaming-metal-rock-soul hottie
helluvatough and attendees for poker and the following late-night drunken Scrabble; Sian (with
boomzilla on backup) for the kids-on-stage prelude to Sunday (directed by one of my previous directors, Robert Coates - Melbourne theatre is a small, small world);
paracelsus and
georginalousise for Sunday night's alcohol and philosophy and Street Fighter. And, of course, the ever dependable
delve for his contant background sexiness, drunkeness and awesomeness.

What about venues like the Planet on Brunswick St?
I have always found loads of people came to that.
Does this website help at all? http://www.venuesonline.com.au
Good luck!

Date: 2005-06-16 02:11 pm (UTC)That's depressing!
I had my first CD launch there, and my last Australian show in June last year as well as countless others inbetween.
How is the music/venue scene there at the moment?
A little birdy who flew into Toronto last week told me Australia sucks full stop at the moment and that his record label has given up trying to find talent there because of the politics, Jet Clones and numerous other reasons.
