According to Virgin Blue's web site, the Adelaide Fringe is the second biggest fringe festival in the world. I'm guess Edinburgh gets the gold. Scary. But it also has good things to say about Adelaide Zoo, so I'll be going there. Public Transport in Adelaide seems pretty good, comparable to Melbourne in terms of price at least; they seem to be keen for people to use it, too. They even have trams there. (I think my internal benchmark for civilisation in a city involves trams in some form or another. Yeah, I know. I know.)

The owner of our house is thinking of selling; we've been asked our intentions past the lease. Let's hope he either decides not to sell, or sells to someone who wants to keep renting it, though the chances of the rent not going up by a lot if that happens are probably slim. I was hoping not to move again inside a year, and I really like this place, not to mention living with Darren and Emma...I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Public transport in Adelaide was good when I was there last. The free bus circling the CBD was very handy too. :-) When're you off?

Hey, good luck in Adelaide if I don't see you before you go!

I think they just have this one big tram line that goes from glenelg to... somewhere. It's not like melbourne, anyway, with trams all over the cbd. adelaide's too small to need much in the way of mass transit.

and yeah, edinburgh festival would be the biggest. have you ever been tot he edinburgh fest? so.much.fun. I've never been to the adelaide one, but I have lots of family in adelaide so have been there a bit. it's a pretty city, but veerrryy small. although probably pretty buzzy when the festival is on. :)

Kick arse in Adelaide, and I sure hope you don't get kicked out of that extremely awesome house, with extremely awesome housemates! (give my love and kisses to D & E!)

Tram... singular

Yeah, it would be a pain to have to move again.

My sole experience of having my flat sold wasn't too traumatic. Apart from the new owner having too much money and no sense, he at least had enough sense to keep the status quo re. our continued occupancy and the rent amount. However, our place isn't in the best condition and being a flat isn't likely to ever have an owner-occupier.

You can probably expect to have your rent stay the same for at least 3 months (honeymoon period for new tenants) if the new owner is planning on keeping it as a rental. Considering the area and property prices there, you'd have a pretty good chance of staying on.
