Damn and blast
Aug. 20th, 2003 12:46 pmIn brief: The Department of Justice has plans to "change the status of swords and crossbows from controlled weapon to prohibited weapon;" and so those of you who own them may need to take a look at the proposed legislation on their website; look under "Draft Control of Weapons and Firearms (Search Powers) Regulations 2003."
You might wonder why I care; well, it's going to be much harder to stage any plays or make any films involving swords now, and of course you can kiss even replica weapons at roleplaying events goodbye. Plus, it may be nearly impossible for swordplay clubs and societies to gain public liability insurance.
In other news, the Anglesea show rocked the hizouse, although I have somewhere along the line lost the trousers from my favourite green suit. This is the peril of doing amateur theatre, where you must use your own clothes as costume. Still, Ballarat this weekend, and next weekend? Well, probably a visit from my Mum and brother. So look out, world!
