There's a double meaning in that.
Friday was my last day at Primus. I am, right now, unemployed, and so - yes - I am officially an out of work actor. Great thing to have to do for cred... I was supposed to meet with an agency this afternoon, but the rep called and cancelled at the last minute; I'm thinking perhaps I should look somewhere else. I still have an audition for a student film tomorrow morning (unpaid), and an appointment with a temp employment group on Thursday. Everything is under control.
Saturday was the last performance for the season of Love and the Supernatural, the collection of short plays I did with the Hartwell Players. I could only stay at the after party for about an hour, thanks to train timetables, which was long enough to decide that Father O'Leary's cheap imitation Bailey's is not a drink I would care to purchase again. It's been a weird show; I like many of the people I've met there, but being the only participant who lives anywhere near the city, I felt more than a little distanced from them since I could rarely afford to spend much time with them outside of rehearsal and performances. Still, it's been a positive experience overall, and I'm sure that the festivals/competitions will be rewarding too.
The journey starts here.
