So I've begun to settle in. Most of my stuff is still in boxes - considering I own no furniture, this is no surprise. In the next month or so I'll start to accumulate drawers, a desk, a chair...it'll be fun. That's what I tell myself anyway.
The smoke is eerily visible in the lights on top of the flats - it looks like Blade Runner out there, but with less black and rain. As I was pondering this, seeing of Pete and Darren, the people in the house next to the Chiropractor across the side-street shouted at me to come up to their balcony for a beer. I did go up, though I didn't have a beer, and met some possibly interesting people - they were all drunk and didn't quite expect me to actually come, so it was hard to tell. Two of them are moving out and three of them don't live there anyway, but I could get to like them as neighbours. Better than having Sam Gough living next door, I know that much.
Living here is going to be great, I can feel it in my bones, I can feel it in my brain...I just hope that it gets cooler soon. I always hope that in Summer, but this year, it's more serious.
