Sadly a rumour
Jul. 3rd, 2002 05:53 pmAnthony Stuart-Head, though an excellent choice, is not in talks to become the next Doctor Who. Sad to note, though, that I didn't get at all excited about it when I read this piece of news; I didn't even bother to see if it could be refuted until Sean asked me about it.
Ah well, after almost twelve years of rumours about films and stars ranging from Eric Idle to Jim Broadbent, I guess its natural that even the most rabid fan would become somewhat jaded and cynical about the whole thing. I would, for the record, love to see more Doctor Who, but it just seems no-one really wants to make it. They'd rather create a new version of Star Trek or, and this is more reasonable, do something new. Though of course the beauty of Doctor Who is that a new series would be something new, but with the reputation of something old behind it.
Ah well.
