Like dew 'neath the early sun

Today I checked my friend's list, not something I do every day, and I heard about Aveline.
I really wasn't sure if I wanted to say anything, but it seems to be helping some people, so to all those who loved Aveline (and that must surely include anyone of any worth who ever met her), I'm thinking of you. For those who didn't but have seen her crop up in their friends' lists, she was a kick arse woman from Canberra who defies easy description but who may have ticked boxes next to punk, queer, activist, artist and gamer, if she hadn't destroyed you, intellectually, for forcing her into a box.
Obviously I didn't ever see her much, but she left an indelible mark on my life every time I met her. I saw her for the first time in years at New Year's Eve, on the ground floor as I peered over the balcony, and we had the "Hey, you've moved to Melbourne? Awesome!" conversation right then and there, like we were old mates or something. I didn't get to talk to her again at the party, but I found myself surprisingly excited to see her and looking forward to seeing her around this year.
hnpcc informs me that funerals seem to come in threes, and I've already been to one in the last week, so please, everyone: take care.
