So now we know who the next Doctor will be. I've never heard of him, and he's pretty young (or, indeed, pretty and young) but he's got something. That interview showed a passionate and excited actor with a light in his eyes and great expressive hands. The kid might be all right, as they say, though to be honest the casting is less weird to me than the fact that I will now be sitting around waiting for 12 months or more before I find out if the guy is any good. Unless they do something unpredictable and interesting like give him more than ten seconds at the end of Tennant's last episode.

Now I can get on with other things, though. Grand.

You mean you haven't been watching "Party Animals" ??? Serious oversight :-)
(ABC Tuesdays)

and on iView (so you don't really have to wait 12 months to see if he's any good - just if he's a good doctor :-)

I quite like him in it - and I think he will be a good doctor.

I haven't had a chance to catch Party Animals aside from the last ten minutes of one episode; I had already been recommended it, though, so I'll definitely watch it now.

I'd heard "History Boys" was good but hardly groundbreaking. Perhaps I'll give it a go, too.

History Boys is a fab filmed play - if you get my drift. I don't mind the genre, but it is different from a film, or a play. I liked it much more than I thought I would.

I'm not sure if Matt made it to the celluloid version - I know he was in the stage show.

Ah, but now comes the next question - what will his costume be?

I'll admit I was somewhat apprehensive about this announcement and wasn't expecting it to happen for a while yet. I'm fairly confident I can trust the Moff on this one although he is considerable younger than I anticipated. My biggest issue at the moment though, is that I'm not ready to let go of Ten - if the next few specials are crap: look out RTD!!!

well... I am and successfully so far. Thanks for not spoiling who the new doctor is for me :)

I actually want to wait and see.

While I confess this sort of thing, where it will be in all the papers (apparently in today's Age, on page 3), I generally exclude from spoilerification - I generally leave that to plot business. But I did think there was a chance some people might want to find out the identity of the actor in question themselves. I'm glad my caution paid off!

We should catch up again soon, too. How was your Christmas?

Oh I am avoiding all media at the moment till we get our grubby hands on the christmas special!

Christmas was christmas. Long story about pooey MS. Apart from that all good!

Yes we really should catch up EEP! We fail at lunch eh?
